Located in Everglades City, the Captain's Table Hotel offers a serene lakeside retreat with easy access to boating and fishing activities.
Captain's Table Hotel presents a mixed experience, with some recent guests praising updated rooms and friendly service, while others report significant issues such as outdated facilities, inconvenient check-in procedures, and malfunctioning amenities. The hotel’s location is good for Everglades tours, but the overall quality appears inconsistent and variable depending on recent renovations and staff performance.
Clean room but falling apart l. Air boat is all they have to do all private property bring your wallet they know how to do it.
The check-in staff were truly lovely, friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. They provided clear instructions for checking in at a nearby location just about a minute up the street, which was not a problem at all. The kids absolutely loved the pool, and we really appreciated the spacious rooms. The screened-in porches were a wonderful bonus and gave us extra space to relax. Having what felt like a full kitchen made our stay even more comfortable and convenient, especially for a family. The location was also perfect for our Everglades tour, making it an ideal home base for exploring the area. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel!
Low season. I had to check in at another hotel. Standard tourist town motel. Very large rooms with frig and microwave. Comfortable beds
This was our second time staying at Captains Table hotel in the Everglades. The outside of the building could use some updating and the screened porch needs the screens replaced. The rooms were updated and very nice. Very modern inside and a large shower. The kitchen is big and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and pleasant at check in. They were very informative about the area and places to eat. We will definitely return!
Checked in with Deanna at Ivey House- she is absolutely lovely! We messed up some dates in our planning and she was able to straighten them out for us. She’s also great to talk to. The rooms are a little dated but functional for what we needed- a place to sleep and a hot shower. Close by boat tours and restaurants, also a fun little town with historical sites to check out. We would stay with this chain again simply because Deanna was so kind and helpful.
Apparently, the majority of the hotels here are owned by the same company. If you rent here, don't come to this address to ck in. You must go back up and ck in at the Ivy Inn. Unfortunately, my encounter with Jennifer at the front desk was not pleasant at all. She's very good at her 3rd party blame technique. But her sweetie, as she called me, wasn't in the mood for her incorrect information with attitude. Also, this hotel is a condo tel, actually. I'm gonna see if their are any family owned hotels in this area next time.
Captains Table is old, dark and musty. Depressing. Sparse, uncomfortable furnishings. VERY overpriced. No front desk- have to check in at another hotel a mile away. Many other better places to stay in Everglades City. Don't pick this one. Heard tell some out of towner bought up three local hotels and it's obvious he is maximizing profit over his guests' comfort.
Maybe we needed to wait for them to complete updates. Our room was not ready, though it was after 4:30 when we picked up the key. There was no cool paint or happy fabrics like the web site showed. The room door was dirty had no chain or peep hole. The blankets were standard old, no fun. The entertainment area was not well put together. The shower was nicely done, but baseboards were dirty or missing, holes had been patched, but not painted, the window in the bathroom needs a lot of work and there was nowhere to hang the toilet paper. On top of all this, the air conditioning did not work. We checked out the next morning, as I did not sleep well in the heat.
Older hotel with updated rooms. Our 2nd floor room was equipped with microwave and small refrigerator. Need to check in at another hotel about 3 blocks away. Would stay here again.
Nice place to stay, prices great and the location is perfect. The rooms were very clean and large. To check in you will have to go about 6 blocks back up the road to the ivy house, other than that highly recommend .
