Marriott’s Crystal Shores consistently receives high praise for its beautiful beachfront location, spacious villas, and well-maintained grounds. While many guests rave about the resort’s family-friendly amenities and attentive staff, recent reviews highlight issues with room noise, inconsistent service, and difficulties with promised owner benefits. Overall, it remains a popular destination, though improvements are needed to fully address ongoing concerns.
We are long-time Westin Vacation Club owners who love the Marco Island Crystal Shores property. It is genuinely one of our favorite places, which is exactly why we chose to upgrade our ownership during a sales presentation there. As part of that upgrade, we were promised a lifetime Bonvoy status upgrade, additional booking support if needed, and five months later, despite multiple emails, phone calls, and even asking the front desk for help, nothing has been fulfilled. The sales representative responded once early on, which tells us the messages were received, but there has been no follow-up since, and owner services lines does not connect to a real person. After 8 minutes of trying, it hangs up and you start all over. The property itself is beautiful and the on-site experience remains excellent, but the post-sale communication has been a significant disappointment and makes the upgrade feel like a promise that was made only to close a deal. We are hopeful that Westin or Marriott leadership will see this and take the steps needed to make this right. We want to remain loyal owners, and that loyalty needs to be a two-way street.
Of the many Marriott properties at which we've stayed, this is one of the very best! The rooms are large, well equipped, and perfect for multi-generational families. The pools are clean and large enough to handle the number of guests. The location is right on the beautiful beach. Excellent staff everywhere! Highly recommend!
We have stayed at Marriott's Crystal Shores for over 10 years and it is one of the best resorts in the United States. It is so clean, the staff is incredible, and the rooms are consistently refreshed. The kids programs are incredible and great activities for resort guests. Already looking forward to our next visit!
Shouldn't tell anyone this but this is a great location. Amenities are well balanced with guest visits. Pools and beach access are excellent. Personnel very professional and welcoming. So, please don't visit so we can continue to enjoy this locale.
One of the very best Marriott Vacation Clubs as it should be given the number of MVC points it cost to stay. Beautiful property and very well taken care of. For a time share , good service. Great restaurants within walking distance.
Supposedly one of Marriott 's best vacation resort destinations. This is mostly true with a couple of exceptions. DO NOT get the gulf view rooms. Especially room 311 or 411. The rooms are directly above the garbage and recycling and laundry pickups with banging metal doors and bins beginning as early as 615 in the morning. Complaints to the resort were unsuccessful in offering alternatives for improving our situation. Ultimately after speaking with resort management we were given a refund for two nights of our 7 night stay. Very disappointed. The resort should make some sort of disclosure when booking these rooms that maintenance noise can be expected very early in the morning and throughout the day. The rooms were very nice and the resort is in a great location but the noise issues are unacceptable.
Expected more for the price. Beautiful location I will say. King bed is comfy. Only 3 chairs at kitchen island when there is plenty of room for a fourth. Internet is terrible. The pools were suppose to be heated, but they were not, freezing. One of the reasons we booked here. Not enough lounges for the amount of people here. Fire pits were out of commission when it’s the perfect time for them weather wise. So were the bathrooms under the Stilts restaurant, very inconvenient. Stilts restaurant not very good either. Room lighting is horrible in all rooms. Would love to have had dinner on balcony but so dark by 6:30 and no lights on the balcony. Cabinets and appliances look like they have layers of grease on them. One of the shower dispensers was off the wall on shower bench with shower gel everywhere when we arrived. Pictures are not what your room looks like, maybe we have a very old room. Also should have you fully stocked with items for the week when you are in a villa that sleeps 8 people. Asking for items on the 3rd day is annoying when paying the price we did for this place. Can’t get fresh beach towels unless between the hours of 4-6. And they will strong arm you on check in to attend their timeshare presentation because next year there policy is changing where only owners are allowed and can’t gift or rent there week, not sure how they can change the rules on owners contracts out of the blue. And also, not a good persuasion to get you to invest, turned me off completely when I just wanted to get settled in our room. Will not be back.
Great place. Great location beach front. Great amenities. Nice suite rooms. Luxury level. Expensive to stay but woth it. Good service. Beach access. Easy parking.
?????????? Wonderful Family Resort We’ve been coming to Marriott’s Crystal Shores since it opened, always with a big group, and it never disappoints. The villas are spacious and well-equipped, with kitchens and 2- and 4-bedroom options that work perfectly for families. There are so many activities for kids and adults alike—three beautiful pools, a fun waterslide, billiards, chess, and ping pong. The resort always has something going on, and it truly feels welcoming for the whole family. It can be tough to get a room, but that’s only because it’s such a popular place and many guests, like us, keep coming back year after year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing family getaway
Great location, beautiful beach and very nice villas. Staff is very responsive to our needs. Had an electrical issue in the kitchen (outlets & microwave not working) and engineering was here within a few minutes and fixed. He found the circuit had tripped when he checked the panel box hidden behind a picture. Patios are large with great views. Need to enforce the no ball throwing in the pools rule. Too many guests in the pool for that. Some great restaurants nearby, both walkable and short drive. We're repeat guests so we like it!
